In itself, the ride with the ocean on one side and tripical jungle on the other side is a very enjoyable experience. This small village on the water is closest to remote beautiful, well-publized, difficult-to-reach beaches, and tiny beachfront towns that can be reached only by boat - Las Animas, Quimixto, Majahuitas, and Yelapa. Not far away is Los Arcos Marine Preserve. With an outing that is tailored to your personal interests, and is changeable anytime during the day, Sergio's Boat Tours get you to Las Animas in 10 minutes, Quimixto in another 10 minutes, Majahuitas in 5 more minutes, and Yelapa in another 10 minutes. Pizota, which is little known, is another 5 minutes. In the other direction, in 10 minutes, you can reach Los Arcos Marine Preserve. Each available remote destination provides different experiences and pleasures. All are in an area where you can see dolphins, whales, and fish if you desire. Two include hikes to waterfalls. Typically, en route to Yelapa, all are put in the water at once to try to snorkle while wearing a boat-required life vest. This is a short-lived, limited-value, snorkeling experience. Also at Yelapa, all passengers compete for space. These large boat stay far from shore enroute, do not divert to look at sea life, and take about an hour to travel each way. TRANSPORTATION FROM AND TO PUERTO VALLARTA
Option A: In Puerto Vallarta, a public bus departs for Boca de Tomatlan every 15 minutes on the quarter hour from the southeast corner of Basillo Badillo and Constitution streets. Orange and white buses will line up two to three deep on Constitution. Fare is 8 pesos. This can be very enjoyable and educational trip. If you are lucky, musicians will join you at some point. Heading to Boca de Tomatlan, sit on the right side to get the most spectacular ocean views. Option B: For regular taxis that seats four, normal rate is 250 pesos each way. A taxi van that seats 6 or 7 seven with a child, however, is available for 200 pesos each way through owner and driver, Daniel Munguia V, who can be reached at 044-322-134-0523.
